Ireland part 4, from Killarney to Kilkenny and finaly Dublin

Last part more towns and Dublin at the end. Churches, castles and lakes. Glendalough was the last stop just before Dublin. It's a place near Dublin where city dwellers often go to country side to take a breather. It's is positioned 70 km south of Dublin among the hills. Of course hills surround a valley with two lakes at the end, so no wonder this was the basis for a settlement. You can se two lakes, which were probably a water source for the settlement in 600 AD. Now days you can see the remains of a monastic city with a big pointy tower in the middle of graveyards. The tower was a refuge place for the priests during viking incursions. It has no stairs, so the vikings couldn't follow the priests. Kilkenny church with graveyard.

Daffodils they are everywhere in this time of year.
